Dismantling
1. Disconnect "negative" battery terminal.
2. Drain the engine coolant.
COOLING SYSTEM: MOD. K: KV6 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Coolant drain, system flush and fill.
3. Remove the inlet receiver.
MANIFOLDS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM: MOD. K, move. V6, REPAIRS, Intake reservoir seals: vehicles manufactured before May 2003.
4. Turn away 2 bolts of fastening of the right fuel rail to an inlet manifold. Remove the nozzle cover (if installed).
5. Disconnect the 2 clamps securing the engine harness to the rear eye and to the bracket on the right intake manifold.
6. Turn away a collar and disconnect the bottom hose of a radiator from the thermostat case.
7. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the heater hose from the thermostat housing.
8. Turn away a collar and disconnect the top hose from an elbow branch pipe of system of cooling.
9. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the case of the thermostat with an elbow branch pipe to the block of cylinders.
10. Remove the elbow from the cylinder block.
11. Remove the thermostat housing with hose from the cylinder block.
12. Release the clip and disconnect the cooling system tube from the thermostat housing.
13. Remove the 4 O-rings from the thermostat housing, elbow and coolant pipe and discard.
Installation
1. Lubricate new O-rings with rubber grease and install the O-rings into the grooves on the thermostat housing, elbow, and coolant pipe.
2. Install the cooling system tube into the thermostat housing so that the clip ears are in the upper position.
3. Install the thermostat housing and the cooling system tube over the cylinder block, insert the tube into the cylinder block, and by pressing the thermostat housing, insert it into place. The hole in the flange of the thermostat housing must align with the bolt socket in the cylinder block.
4. Insert the elbow into the cylinder block. The fitting must be correctly oriented with respect to the flange of the thermostat housing.
5. Screw the bolt into the elbow and into the flange of the thermostat housing. Tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 18 Nm.
6. Connect the top hose to the elbow and secure with a clamp.
7. Connect the heater hose and bottom hose to the thermostat housing and secure with clamps.
8. Install on the brackets and secure the engine harness with clamps.
9. Install the protective cover of the injectors on the right fuel rail (if installed), screw in the bolts and tighten them to a torque of 9 Nm.
10. Install intake reservoir.
MANIFOLDS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM: MOD. K, move. V6, REPAIRS, Intake reservoir seals: vehicles manufactured before May 2003.
11. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
COOLING SYSTEM: MOD. K, KV6 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Coolant drain, system flush and fill.
12. Attach "negative" battery terminal.
