Operating procedure
1. Remove the soundproof casing of the engine.
KV6 ENGINE - MODIFICATION K, Camshafts of the left cylinder head, Noise-insulating casing of the engine.
2. Inspect the engine and cooling system components to ensure there are no leaks.
CAUTION: Do not open the cap while the engine is hot, as you may be scalded by steam or coolant.
3. Check the hoses for cracks, deformation and reliability of the connecting parts.
4. Remove the filler cap of the expansion tank.
5. Remove the lower engine protection.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine lower shield.
6. Install a container to collect the escaping coolant.
7. Turn out from the block of cylinders a drain stopper of system of cooling.
8. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the lower hose from the radiator.
9. Let the coolant drain.
Filling
1. Flush the system with low pressure water. Do not supply high pressure water to the system as this may damage the radiator.
2. Wipe the drain plug of the cylinder block and apply STC 50552 sealant to the first three threads.
3. Screw the plug into the cylinder block and tighten to 20 Nm.
4. Attach the bottom hose to the radiator and secure it with a clamp.
5. Prepare coolant of the required concentration.
FILLING CAPACITIES, LIQUIDS AND OILS, Working liquids.
6. Remove the screw (in the air outlet) from the heater outlet hose.
7. Slowly pour coolant into the expansion tank until a continuous stream of coolant comes out of the air outlet.
8. Screw the screw into the hole in the outlet hose of the heater and tighten it.
9. Continue to fill the system through the expansion bottle neck until the liquid reaches the bottom of the steam outlet hose.
10. Establish a stopper of a jellied mouth of a broad tank into place.
11. Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes.
WARNING: DO NOT turn on the air conditioning system
12. Stop the engine.
13. Squeeze the bottom hose several times by hand to remove the air lock.
14. Start the engine and let it run for 7 minutes, changing the speed from idle to 3500 rpm.
15. Stop the engine and let it cool down.
16. Remove the cover of the expansion tank and add fluid to the mark "MAX" on the expansion tank.
17. Establish a cover of a jellied mouth of a broad tank into place.
18. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
CAUTION: If the lower radiator hose is hot, the thermostat is fully open.
19. Make sure that warm air comes out of the nozzles of the heating system.
NOTE: The absence of warm air at the outlet of the nozzles may indicate the presence of an air lock in the heater core. If necessary, cool the engine, unscrew the cap of the expansion tank and repeat the procedure for bleeding the cooling system using the air outlet.
20. Stop the engine and let it cool down.
21. Make sure there are no leaks and add fluid to the tank to the mark "MAX".
22. Reinstall the lower engine guard.
EXTERIOR PARTS, REPAIR WORKS, Engine lower shield.
23. Reinstall the engine soundproof cover.
