Operating procedure


1. Remove the engine soundproofing cover.

2. Inspect the engine and cooling system components to ensure there are no leaks.

CAUTION: Do not remove the cap while the engine is hot to avoid being burned by steam or coolant.


3. Check the hoses for cracks, deformation and reliability of the connecting parts.

4. Remove the filler cap of the expansion tank.

5. Remove the lower engine guard.

6. Install a container to collect the leaking coolant.

7. Remove the cooling system drain plug from the cylinder block.

8. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the lower hose from the radiator.



9. Allow the coolant to drain.

Filling


1. Flush the system with low pressure water. Do not use high pressure water as this may damage the radiator.

2. Wipe the cylinder block drain plug clean and apply STC 50552 sealant to the first three threads.

3. Screw the plug into the cylinder block and tighten it to a torque of 20 Nm.

4. Connect the lower hose to the radiator and secure it with a clamp.

5. Prepare the coolant of the required concentration.

6. Remove the screw (in the air bleed hole) from the heater outlet hose.

7. Slowly pour coolant into the expansion tank until a continuous stream of coolant comes out of the air bleed hole.

8. Insert the screw into the hole in the heater outlet hose and tighten it.

9. Continue filling the system through the expansion tank neck until the liquid reaches the bottom of the steam outlet hose.

10. Replace the expansion tank filler cap.

11. Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes.

CAUTION: DO NOT turn on the air conditioning system


12. Turn off the engine.

13. Squeeze the lower hose with your hand several times to remove the air lock.



14. Start the engine and let it run for 7 minutes, varying the speed from idle to 3500 rpm.

15. Turn off the engine and let it cool.

16. Remove the expansion tank cap and add fluid up to the "MAX" mark on the expansion tank.

17. Replace the expansion tank filler cap.

18. Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.

CAUTION: If the lower radiator hose is hot, the thermostat is fully open.


19. Make sure that warm air is coming out of the heating system nozzles.

NOTE: The absence of warm air at the nozzle outlet may indicate the presence of an air lock in the heater radiator. If necessary, cool the engine, unscrew the expansion tank cap and repeat the cooling system bleeding procedure using the air bleed hole.


20. Turn off the engine and let it cool.

21. Make sure there are no leaks and add fluid to the tank up to the "MAX" mark.

22. Reinstall the lower engine guard.

23. Install the engine soundproofing cover.
