Seal drive shaft: models with Td4 and KV6 engines (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the left drive shaft.

DRIVE SHAFTS, REPAIR WORK, Left shaft with outer and inner joints.

2. Remove and discard the oil seal, being careful not to damage the oil seal seat.

Installation

1. Clean the oil seal seat.

CAUTION: The outer surface of the seal is wax coated and does not require lubrication before installation.

2. Vehicles with manual transmission: Using the LRT-54-025 and LRT-99-003 mandrels, press in a new oil seal.



3. Automatic transmission models: Use tool LRT-44-029 to press in a new oil seal.

4. Install the left drive shaft.

5. Add oil to the gearbox.
