All vehicle attachments are secured with latches and locks. The latches are equipped with partial closing switches that notify the driver that the vehicle access point is not fully closed.
The central locking system is controlled by the remote control, the central locking buttons on the front door or the central locking switches on the instrument panel. The central locking system controls the automatic locking and unlocking of the vehicle entry points. The software that controls the central locking system is stored in the CJB.
The central locking system is also integrated with the interior lighting function. The interior lighting and door mirror lamps are illuminated when a valid unlock request from the remote control is received by the CJB from the radio frequency receiver. For further information, refer to the chapter: Interior Lighting (417-02 Interior Lighting, Description and Operation).
The folding function of the outside rearview mirrors can also be controlled by the central locking system, if configured by the dealer.
A hidden mechanical door lock is built into the outer handle of the left front door and is used to gain access to the passenger compartment in the event of a discharged battery or a malfunction of the central locking system.
