All hinged elements of the car are fixed by means of latches with clamps. The latches are equipped with partial closing switches that inform the driver about the incomplete closing of the car access daughter.
The central locking system is controlled by the remote control, the central locking buttons on the front door, or the central locking switches on the instrument panel. The central locking system controls the automatic locking and unlocking of vehicle entry points. The software that controls the central locking system is stored in the CJB.
The central locking system is also integrated with the interior lighting function. The interior lamps and exterior mirror lamps come on when the CJB receives a valid unlock request from the RF receiver, sent by the remote control. For more information, see chapter: Interior lighting (417-02 Interior lighting, Description and principle of operation).
The folding door mirror function can also be controlled by the central locking system if configured by the dealer.
A hidden mechanical door lock is integrated into the left front door exterior handle and is used to gain access to the passenger compartment in the event of a dead battery or a malfunction of the central locking system.
