The filler cap is electrically driven and is locked and unlocked by an actuator and a plastic pin. The actuator is located behind the filler cap body and controls the pin, which engages and disengages the bushing on the filler cap support bracket lever.
The fuel filler flap actuator is rigidly connected to the CJB and is controlled by the vehicle's central locking system. The CJB reverses the polarity of the connection to +power and ground of the actuator, allowing the pin to move in both directions for locking and unlocking. In the unlocked state, the fuel filler flap is manually opened to gain access to the fuel filler flap.
