Brake system
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
- Check the front pad wear.
- Check the rear pads for wear.
- Check for brake fluid leaks from the calipers.
- Check the condition of the brake discs.
- Check the condition of all tubes of the brake booster and the brake system for abrasions and leaks.
- Clean the wheel hub studs and apply grease (Part No. Land Rover RYL 105020) seating surface of each hub.
Brake Fluid Replacement
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 2 years or 48,000 km.
Change the brake fluid.
Wheel speed sensors
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
Inspect the wheel speed sensor harness for damage.
Engine oil and oil filter
For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be carried out every 3 months or 6,000 km.
In the case of vehicles running on fuels with high (over 0.7%) sulfur content, change the oil and filter AT LEAST every 3 months or 6,000 km.
In the case of vehicles running on medium fuel (0,3 - 0,7%) sulfur content, change the oil and filter AT LEAST every 6 months or 12,000 km.
Change engine oil and oil filter.
Air filter
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 12 months or 24,000 km.
Replace the air filter element. For more information, see the chapter: Air filter (303-12A Intake air distribution and filtration - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).
Accessory drive belt
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 5 years or 120,000 km.
Replace the accessory drive belt. For more information, see chapter: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05A Accessory drive - 3.2L NA - I6, Removal and installation).
Timing belt, tensioner and pulley
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 4 years or 96,000 km.
Replace timing belt, tensioner and pulley. For more information, refer to the chapter: Timing belt (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and installation).
Radiator/charge air cooler and cooling fan
CAUTION: If the vehicle is used in severe conditions, the following operations must be carried out.
Perform a visual inspection of the radiator/charge air cooler for external obstructions, check the fan impeller for damage. Clean debris from the charge air cooler using low pressure compressed air.
Continuous operation in difficult off-road conditions
CAUTION: After 80 km of continuous driving in difficult off-road conditions, such as driving through water obstacles, driving through deep mud, sharp gravel or slush, the following should be cleaned and checked.
- Parking brake.
- Auxiliary drive belt.
Vehicles driven in dirty or dusty conditions, or used for wading: More frequent air filter maintenance required.
Fuel filter
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
Drain the condensate from the fuel filter.
Poor fuel quality
CAUTION: For heavy duty vehicles, the following operations must be performed every 3 months or 6,000 km.
If the vehicle is operated under these conditions, drain the condensate from the fuel filter more frequently.
Additional conditions that may require attention
Every 6 years: It is recommended that all brake system hydraulic seals be replaced.
NOTE: This operation is in addition to the MANDATORY replacement of all flexible brake hoses at the end of the appropriate service interval.
