Main hydraulic distributor (Freelander 2)

Removal

1. Remove the cover and disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

3. Remove the oil pan. Refer to procedure: Transmission Oil Pan (307-01 Automatic/Transaxle Transmission, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the oil temperature sensor.



5. Release the transmission wiring harness.

Be careful not to damage the wiring harnesses. Mark the installation position of the element before removing it.

6. Remove the suction cover and discard the gasket.

Installation

1. Install the valve block, but do not tighten it at this stage.

NOTE: Install this item in the position noted during removal.

2. Install the suction cover and new gasket, but do not tighten at this stage.

3. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown. Tightening torque: 10 Nm



4. Position and connect the wiring harness.

CAUTION: Make sure the wiring harnesses are correctly positioned.

5. Install the oil temperature sensor. Tightening torque: 10 Nm

CAUTION: A new O-ring must be installed.

NOTE: Lubricate the new O-ring with transmission fluid.

6. Install the oil pan. Refer to procedure: Transmission Oil Pan (307-01 Automatic/Transaxle Transmission, Removal and Installation).

7. Connect the ground cable to the battery and install the cover. Refer to the procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
