The working fluid is retained in the lower part of the main housing. The combined drain/fill plug is located in the lower part of the housing. To check the oil level, remove the internal fill plug when the transmission fluid is at a temperature of 50 - 60°C (122 - 140°F). If oil drips from the plug hole, the level is correct.
The gearbox is equipped with a transmission fluid cooler located on the left (LH) end of the radiator. The cooler is connected to the gearbox torque converter housing by 2 pipes. The liquid cooler is connected to the engine cooling system and cools the transmission fluid by transferring heat from the cooler to the engine coolant.
