1-Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
2-PRND pointer
3-Sport mode indicator
4-Transmission status indicator " CommandShift™"
5-Information center

The instrument cluster is connected to the TCM via the CAN bus. The TCM transmits information about the transmission status to the instrument cluster, and the instrument cluster informs the driver about this via one of its two displays. For more information, refer to the chapter: Instrument cluster (413-01 Instrument cluster, Description and principle of operation).

Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)

The MIL is located in the upper left corner of the instrument cluster on the tachometer. Transmission faults that may affect the operation of the emission control system cause the MIL to illuminate.

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated by the ECM when a fault message is received from the TCM via the CAN bus. The nature of the fault can be diagnosed using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system which reads fault codes stored in the TCM memory.

Gearbox Status Indicator

The gearbox status indicator is located on the right side of the instrument cluster on the speedometer LCD display. The indicator display shows the position of the PRND selector lever, and in the case of manual mode (CommandShift™) - the selected gear. When the selector lever is moved to the "Sport" position, the message "SPORT" is displayed under the CommandShift™ gear indicator.

Information center display

The information center display is located at the bottom of the instrument cluster below the speedometer and tachometer. The message center is an LCD display that provides vehicle status data and current driver information.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Information and Message Center (413-08 Information and Message Center, Description and Operation).
