Adjusting the gear selector lever cable (Freelander 2)

1. Check the operation of the gear selector lever.

2. Remove the selector lever knob. Refer to procedure: Selector Lever Knob (307-05 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle External Controls, Removal and Installation).



4. Remove the retainer from the gear selector cable adjuster.

CAUTION: Make sure the selector lever and gearshift mechanism are in the Park (P) position.

6. Lock the gear selector cable adjustment device.





7. Secure the selector lever boot.
