Draining and filling engine oil (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.

1. Raise the vehicle.

WARNING: Never work on or under a vehicle that is supported solely by a jack. Always support the vehicle securely.

2. Remove the engine guard. Refer to procedure: Engine Guard (501-02 Front Body Panels, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the oil filter. Refer to procedure: Oil Filter Replacement Element (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).

4. Tightening torque: 20 Nm

WARNING: Avoid contact of operating fluids with skin if possible.

The liquid is at a high temperature. Liquid may leak out.

5. Remove and discard the sealing washer.

6. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Clean the element from dirt and grease. Use new sealing gaskets.

7. Check the engine oil level and add oil if necessary.
