Valve control cover (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.

Removal

1. Remove the cover and disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).

2. Raise the vehicle.

WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.

3. Remove the magnetic sensor ring. Refer to procedure: Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Pulse Wheel (303-14B Electronic Controls - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the engine trim. Refer to procedure: Engine Cover - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).

5. Tightening torque: 7 Nm





6. Tightening torque: 7 Nm



7. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

CAUTION: Make sure the wiring harnesses are correctly positioned.

8. Tightening torque: 6 Nm

NOTE: Do not continue disassembly if the component is removed only for access.

Installation

1. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
