Disassembly

1. Left cylinder head valve cover: Loosen the clamp and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the valve cover.

2. Unscrew the 7 nuts securing the ignition coils to the valve cover. Remove the 4 ignition coils.

3. Right cylinder head valve cover. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the oil dipstick tube.
4. Right cylinder head valve cover. Loosen the nut and remove the oil dipstick tube mounting bar from the oil pan.
5. Right cylinder head valve cover. Remove the dipstick tube with the sealing washer and discard the O-ring.

6. Unscrew the 8 nuts and 3 bolts securing the valve cover to the cylinder head. Remove the valve cover, discard the 2 gaskets and 11 sealing washers.
Assembly
1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the valve cover and cylinder head.

2. Apply STC 50550 sealant to the areas shown in the figure.
3. Using 2 new gaskets and 11 sealing washers, install the valve cover onto the cylinder head.

4. Fit the 8 nuts and 3 bolts securing the valve cover and tighten them in the sequence shown. Tightening torque 10 N·m.
5. Insert 4 ignition coils.
6. Screw on the 7 nuts securing the ignition coils to the valve cover and tighten them. Tightening torque 4 Nm.
7. Right cylinder head valve cover. Wipe the dipstick tube and mating surfaces.
8. Right cylinder head valve cover. Install a new O-ring on the pan, insert the dipstick tube with washer into the pan.
9. Right cylinder head valve cover. Install and tighten the oil dipstick tube mounting nuts to 10 Nm.
10. Right cylinder head valve cover. Install the clamping bar and tighten the nut to 10 Nm.
11. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose and tighten the clamp.
