Brake light switch (with ABS) (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Remove the lower trim panel.

3. Disconnect the switch connector.

4. Press the brake pedal to access the switch.

5. Pull the switch sleeve and plunger fully forward.

6. Remove the switch.



7. Pull the switch sleeve and plunger fully forward.

8. Press the brake pedal and set the switch. Check that the switch mounting clips are properly engaged.

9. While holding the switch, fully depress the brake pedal to fully engage the switch.

10. Reinstall the removed parts.

11. Check the operation of the switch (when the pedal is pressed, the brake lights should be on; when the pedal is released, they should not be on).
