Ignition system — spark formation (Discovery 1)

Note: To prevent damage to the catalytic converter when cranking the engine, disconnect the injector connectors.

Make sure the ignition is off.

Remove one high-voltage wire from the spark plug. Connect the spark plug simulator to the high-voltage wire.

Using insulated pliers, hold the simulator 6 mm from the ground.

Turn the engine over with the starter.

Check for a large blue spark. Check all high voltage wires.
