Oil separator (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Loosen the clamp and remove the hose from the separator.

2. Unscrew the separator from the valve cover.

3. Remove the large sealing ring and check its condition.



4. Assess the condition of the separator wire mesh. If necessary, replace the separator assembly or flush it:

5. Place the separator in the solvent; after a while the deposits should dissolve.

6. Dry the separator.

Caution: Do not use compressed air for drying.

Installation

7. Install a new sealing ring on the separator.

8. Screw the separator into the valve cover by hand.
