The aluminum oil pan housing is attached to the bottom of the cylinder block with twenty bolts and forms an extension section between the cylinder block and the oil pan. The oil pan housing is necessary to increase the distance between the oil pump and the oil pan due to the installation of the balancing system.
The rear of the oil pan housing contains the lower support points for installing the gearbox housing. The holes drilled on the left side of the housing are used to install the oil dipstick tube, oil temperature sensor and return hose from the crankcase ventilation oil separator.
The crankcase ventilation oil separator is also connected to the oil filler pipe, which is located at the rear left side of the engine. The oil for topping up the system passes through the oil separator and the return hose and enters the oil pan. The oil pan has a built-in oil deflector plate to reduce foaming and splashing of oil.
