The crankcase ventilation system is closed, with crankcase gases being discharged to the engine intake.

Blocked, disconnected, or damaged ventilation tubes and filters can impair proper mixture control, which in turn can lead to reduced engine power and fuel economy.

Crankcase gases are taken into the engine intake through the separator (3) on the right valve cover and fed to the engine intake. The oil separated from the crankcase gases in the separator is drained into the sump. A gas flow separation jet is installed in the tee (1). The air filter (2) supplies air to the crankcase to prevent excessive pressure drop in the crankcase when operating with the throttle closed.
