Side airbag module (Discovery 3)

Removal

CAUTION: Before performing any work on the SRS system, read the relevant information carefully.

CAUTION: Always disconnect both battery cables before working on the SRS system. Disconnect the ground cable first. Never connect the battery with the polarity reversed.

1. Secure the SRS system.

2. Remove the front seat back upholstery.

For more information, refer to Front Seat Backrest Trim (78.90.08)

3. Remove the front seat back cover.

• Remove the front seat head restraint mounting clips.

NOTE: If replacement of SRS components is required, the bar code of the new part must be recorded.

Remove the side airbag module.

• Release the side airbag module wiring harness.
• Unscrew 2 nuts.

Installation

1. Install the side airbag module.

• Tighten the nuts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
• Connect the wiring harness.

2. Install the front seat back cover.

• Install the front seat headrest retaining clips.

3. Install the front seat back upholstery.
