Removing
WARNING: Before carrying out any work on the SRS system, read the related information carefully.
CAUTION: Always disconnect both wires from the battery before working on the SRS system. Disconnect the cable first "masses". Never connect the battery with reverse polarity.
NOTE: If SRS system components need to be replaced, the barcode of the new part must be recorded.
1. Disconnect the wire "masses" from the battery. For more information refer to Specification.
2. Secure the SRS system. For more information, refer to Standard Techniques Used in a Service Station.
3. Remove the driver's airbag module.
- Use the special tool to release the clamp.
- Repeat the above procedure on the other side.
- Disconnect the wire "masses".
- Release clips and disconnect 2 electrical connectors.
Installation

CAUTION: The SRS units have unique electrical connectors. DO NOT use force to connect connectors or attempt to connect unsuitable connectors.
Install the driver airbag module.
- Connect wire "masses".
- Connect electrical connectors.
WARNING: Driver's airbag module installation is indicated by two clicks: each of the two springs makes one click. The edges of the module must be flush with the steering wheel.
Install the driver airbag module.
- Align the module with the steering wheel.
- Make sure. that the wires behind the module are not pinched.
- Align dowel pins and springs.
