Removing
3. Disconnect the battery ground wire. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging system - General information, Specifications).
2. Secure the SRS system. Refer to Procedure: Standard Techniques Used in a Service Station (100-00 General information, Description and principle of operation).
3. Gently release the two clips.
4. Using the special tool, remove the driver's airbag module. Special tool: 501-106
5. Disconnect the three electrical connectors.
WARNING: Do not touch tester probes to auxiliary restraint system electrical connectors (SRS).
Installation
1. Replace the elements in reverse order.
SRS devices have unique electrical connectors. DO NOT use force to connect connectors or attempt to connect unsuitable connectors.
The installation of the driver's airbag module is indicated by two clicks: each of the two springs produces one click. The edges of the module must be flush with the steering wheel.
NOTE: If SRS system components need to be replaced, the barcode of the new component must be recorded.
