Removal
3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
2. Secure the SRS system. Refer to the procedure: Standard Workshop Procedure (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
3. Carefully release the two clamps.
4. Using the special tool, remove the driver's airbag module. Special tool: 501-106
5. Disconnect the three electrical connectors.
WARNING: Do not touch the tester probes to the supplemental restraint system (SRS) electrical connectors.
Installation
1. Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
SRS units have unique electrical connectors. DO NOT force connectors together or attempt to fit incorrect connectors.
The driver's airbag module is installed when two clicks are heard: each of the two springs produces one click. The edges of the module should be flush with the steering wheel.
