Exhaust gas recirculation valve 4.0 L (Discovery 3)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

3. Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector.

4. Disconnect the EGR valve vacuum hose.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or disassembling parts, make sure the area around the contact surfaces is clean and dry. To avoid contamination of the system, plug all open connections.

Disconnect the EGR valve supply line. Loosen the EGR nipple nut and disconnect the line.



6. Remove the EGR valve.

• Remove 2 bolts.
• Select the gasket and discard it.

Installation

1. Install the EGR valve.

• Clean the mating surfaces of the elements.
• Install a new gasket.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 25 Nm).

2. Connect the supply pipe to the EGR valve. Tighten the fitting. (tightening torque 25 Nm).

3. Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.

4. Connect the EGR valve electrical connector.

5. Install the engine cover. For more information, refer to Engine Cover - 4.0L (12.30.50)

6. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
