Removal


1. Remove the starter. For more information, refer to Starter (86.60.01)

2. Disconnect the starter terminal cover.

2. Disconnect the starter terminal cover.


3. Disconnect the starter terminal. Unscrew the nut.

3. Disconnect the starter terminal. Unscrew the nut.


4. Remove the starter bolts.

4. Remove the starter bolts.


5.
CAUTION: The starter motor rotor must remain inside the motor housing.




Remove the starter from the transmission housing.

Remove the starter from the transmission housing.


6. Remove the starter solenoid valve screws.

6. Remove the starter solenoid valve screws.


7.
CAUTION: The gears and bearings must remain in the transmission housing.


Remove the starter solenoid valve.

Remove the starter solenoid valve.


Installation


1.
CAUTION: The gears and bearings must remain in the transmission housing.

Install the starter solenoid valve onto the transmission housing.

2. Install the starter solenoid valve screws. Tighten. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

3. Install the starter on the transmission housing.

4. Screw in the starter bolts. Tighten. (tightening torque 10 Nm).

5. Secure the starter terminal. Tighten the nut. (tightening torque 5 Nm).

6. Secure the starter terminal cover.

7. Install the starter. For more information, refer to Starter (86.60.01)
