Removal

1.

CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported solely by a jack. Always support the vehicle securely.

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Remove the transfer case. For more information, refer to Transfer Case - 4.0L (41.20.25.99)

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the sliding surface and guide.

Carefully remove and discard the oil seal.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Oil seals must be installed dry.

Install a new seal.

• Clean the seal guide surface.
• Use a special tool.

2. Install the transfer case. For more information, refer to Transfer Case - 4.0L (41.20.25.99)
