Rear door outer handle (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the plastic door panel trim.

DOORS, Removing the front door assembly to provide access to other components, installing the front door, Plastic trim for the rear door.

2. Disconnect the outer handle rod.

3. Remove the plug to access the screw.

4. Remove the 3 Torx screws securing the lock to the door.

5. Release the fastener and remove the lock to gain access to the screw.

6. Unscrew the 2 screws securing the outer handle.

7. Remove the outer handle.



8. Remove the outer handle rod.

Installation

1. Connect the rod to the handle.

2. Install the handle on the door, screw in and tighten the screws that secure it.

3. Install the lock into the door, screw in and tighten the Torx screws.



4. Install the lock screw access plug.

5. Connect the outer handle rod to the lock.

6. Install the plastic door panel trim.
