The ABS and Dynamic Stability Control systems are equipped with a Continental Teves Mk25E1 module with an integrated 4-channel HCU. The ABS module with HCU is located in the rear left part of the engine compartment and is installed in the hydraulic brake circuit, between the master cylinder and the four brake calipers.

The ABS module is connected to the high-speed CAN bus (Controller Area Network) and actively interacts with other electrical modules of the vehicle and associated sensors, receiving and transmitting information about the current operation of the vehicle.



If necessary, the ABS module actively intervenes and engages the HCU during braking or maneuvering, correcting the height, directional stability, traction or speed of the vehicle. If significant correction is required, the ABS module sends a request to the engine control module (ECM) to reduce engine power to further stabilize and correct the vehicle's behavior.

To ensure full functionality, the ABS and DSC systems include the following elements:
  • DSC switch
  • HDC switch
  • Four wheel speed sensors
  • Sensor block
  • Steering wheel angle sensor
  • Instrument cluster warning lights
  • ABS module complete with HCU

The ABS system also provides braking functions that are designed to make the vehicle easier to move or to assist the driver. The following functions are described in detail in the "Operating Principle" section:

All of the listed braking functions, except for the hill descent control system, are automatically activated when the vehicle is in mode 6 (ignition on) and the engine is running.
