Depending on the market, the vehicle may be equipped with different types of connectors for connecting the trailer wiring. Details are provided in the Electrical Reference Library (ERL).
The CJB continuously monitors the direction indicators and can detect if more than two lamps are fitted (the side repeaters are not monitored). If a trailer is detected, the trailer indicator lamp in the instrument cluster will flash at the same rate as the vehicle's direction indicators.
If one or more direction indicators on the vehicle or trailer are faulty, the trailer indicator light will not flash to alert the driver of the faulty bulbs.
