Side direction indicators (Freelander 2)

The side turn signals are located in the air ducts of the front wings. On cars from the 2009 model year, the side turn signals have clear lenses and orange lamps. The lights are inserted into openings in the ventilation panels, where they are held in place by clips. To remove the light, you need to slide it back, and then release the front edge of the light from the panel.

The side turn signals use 5W baseless bulbs housed in sockets. The lights have the same purpose as the front and rear turn signals. They are activated by the left multifunction switch on the steering column and by the hazard warning button.

The multifunction switch on the steering column only works when the ignition is in power mode 6, the hazard warning switch always works regardless of the power mode. The turn signals operate with an on/off cycle of 360 ms. If the side turn signal bulb burns out, the turn signal continues to flash at a normal frequency.
