Removal
1. Raise the vehicle.
WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.
2. Remove the engine trim. Refer to procedure: Engine Cover - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).
3. Remove the oil pan. Refer to procedure: Oil Pan (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).
4. Remove the dipstick tube.
NOTE: Remove the O-ring and discard it as no longer needed.

5. Disconnect the electrical oil level sensor.

6. Disconnect the engine crankcase ventilation oil separator drain pipe.

7. Remove 4 gearbox bolts.

8. Remove the lower oil pan panel.

9. Remove the oil level sensor.

10. Remove the gasket.
Installation
1. Install the oil level sensor. Tightening torque: 8 Nm
2. For sealant information, refer to the specifications section. Refer to the procedure: Specifications (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Specifications).
3. Apply a 3mm bead of sealant to the area shown.

4. Remove the oil pan panel. Tightening torque: Step 1: 10 Nm; Step 2: 16 Nm
5. Screw in the gearbox mounting bolts. Tightening torque: 47 Nm
6. Connect the engine crankcase ventilation oil separator drain pipe.
7. Connect the electrical connector of the oil level sensor.
8. Insert the level measuring probe.
9. Install the dipstick tube. Tightening torque: 10 Nm
10. Install the oil pan. Refer to procedure: Oil Pan (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).
11. Reinstall the engine top cover. Refer to procedure: Engine Cover - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4 (501-05 Interior Trim, Removal and Installation).
