Fuel pump and fuel level sensor (Discovery 1)

Access to the pump is through a hatch in the rear of the cabin floor.

Before removing the pump, clean the place where it is connected. Observe fire safety measures. To remove the pump you will need special keys LRT-19-001, LRT-19-002.

Removal



1. Relieve pressure in the fuel system.

2. Disconnect the battery.

3. Drain at least 9 liters of fuel from the tank.

4. Remove the carpet in the cargo area of the passenger compartment.

5. Remove the sound insulation from the floor.

6. Remove the floor hatch.

7. Disconnect the fuel pump and level sensor connectors.

8. Disconnect the fuel lines.

9. Using the LRT-19-001 key, unscrew the locking ring and remove the pump from the tank.

Installation



10. Install the pump into the tank. Tighten the retaining ring to 48 Nm.

11. Connect the fuel lines.



12. Connect the connector.

13. Reinstall the removed parts.
