Coolant temperature sensor (Discovery 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the battery.



2. Disconnect the sensor connector.

3. Place a rag around the sensor to collect the liquid.

4. Unscrew the sensor.

5. Discard the sealing washer.

Installation

6. Clean the sensor threads and installation locations.

7. Apply Loctite 577 to the sensor threads and install a new sealing washer.

8. Install the sensor on the engine, tighten to 20 Nm.

9. Reinstall the removed parts.
