Removal



1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Relieve residual fuel pressure.

3. Remove the resonance chamber, see below.

4. Disconnect the fuel vapor canister hose, crankcase ventilation hose, brake booster vacuum hose and fuel pressure regulator hose from the venturi nozzle housing.

5. Unscrew the 6 bolts securing the nozzle housing to the intake manifold.

6. Place a small wooden block on the intake manifold for leverage. Place a lever between the block and the nozzle body pipe, break the seal.

Caution: Do not install the lever on the fuel rail.


7. Remove the Venturi nozzle housing.

8. Plug the intake ducts with a rag.

9. Disconnect the connectors of the 8 injectors.

10. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor connector.

11. Place a rag around the fuel supply line connection to collect any fuel.

12. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail.

13. Plug the fuel line and fuel manifold openings.

14. Loosen the return fuel line clamp.

15. Remove the fuel line and plug the holes.

16. Unscrew the 6 nuts securing the fuel manifold and ignition coils to the intake manifold.

17. Remove the coil bracket from the studs and set it aside.

18. Remove the fuel manifold together with the injectors.

The following operations should be carried out only as necessary.

19. Wipe the fuel manifold.

20. Unscrew the two bolts securing the pressure regulator to the fuel manifold.

20. Unscrew the two bolts securing the pressure regulator to the fuel manifold.


21. Remove the regulator assembly.

22. Remove the sealing ring from the regulator.

23. Disconnect the 8 injector mounting clips.

24. Remove the injectors from the manifold.

25. Remove the sealing rings from the injectors.

Installation



26. Clean the mating surfaces of the intake manifold and the Venturi nozzle housings.

27. Clean the injector installation areas.

28. Place new sealing rings on the injectors and pressure regulator. Before installation, lubricate the rings with silicone grease.



29. Install the pressure regulator, tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.

30. Install the injectors and secure them with clips.

31. Install the fuel manifold and injectors onto the engine.

32. Install the ignition coil bracket.

33. Secure the bracket and fuel manifold with nuts. Tightening torque 8 Nm.

34. Connect the fuel hoses. Tightening torque 16 Nm.

35. Connect the injector and fuel temperature sensor connectors.

36. Apply Loctite 577 sealant to the intake manifold and install the venturi nozzle housing.

37. Tighten the attachment housing bolts to a torque of 24 Nm.

38. Reinstall the removed parts, start the engine and check for leaks.
