Four piezoelectric fuel injectors are mounted centrally above the combustion chambers of each cylinder. Each injector is sealed at the base of the bore with a copper washer. A centering ring installed on top of the injector body ensures proper positioning of the injector in the mounting bore.

NOTE: Each time an injector is removed from the cylinder head, a new copper washer should be installed and the old washer discarded. The centering ring can be reused when the injector is removed. The injector lines are single use only and should be replaced each time a nipple connection is loosened.


The injector is secured to the camshaft cover by a support clamp and bolt. A pin, which is loosely fitted in the camshaft cover, serves as the attachment point for the opposite end of the injector support clamp.

NOTE: When removing the camshaft cover and injectors, care must be taken to avoid accidental damage to the injector support clamp pin.
