The EGR valve assembly is located on the right side of the cylinder head, above the exhaust manifold, and is secured with four fasteners. The intake manifold connects the EGR heat exchanger to the exhaust manifold. The transfer tube runs through the engine and connects the EGR valve outlet to the intake manifold housing.
The pipe on the EGR heat exchanger housing connects to the outlet hose of the climate control heater and supplies coolant to the EGR heat exchanger. At the outlet, the EGR heat exchanger connects to the coolant manifold located on the right side of the engine. The coolant manifold is located between the temperature control module and the rear section of the coolant pump housing. EGR is controlled by the ECM; it operates when the engine is at normal operating temperature and under constant speed driving conditions.
