Knock sensor (Discovery 1)

Caution: Do not apply sealant or locking adhesive to the sensor threads - this will reduce the sensitivity of the sensor.

1. Raise the car.



2. Right sensor only: Remove the starter heat shield mounting bolt.

3. Disconnect the heat shield clip.

4. Move the screen aside until you have access to the knock sensor.

5. Both sensors: Disconnect the connector.

6. Remove the sensor from the engine.

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order. The sensor tightening torque is 16 Nm.

Caution: Failure to tighten correctly will result in damage to the sensor or improper operation.
