Removal



1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Loosen the air hose clamp and remove the hose from the resonance chamber.

3. Remove the cotter pin from the accelerator cable eye.

4. Remove the earring finger.

5. Remove the kick-down cable cotter pin.

6. Disconnect the cruise control system drive vacuum hose.

7. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket.

8. Unscrew the front nut of the kick-down cable adjustment unit.

9. Remove the cable from the bracket.

10. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the resonance chamber.

11. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.

12. Disconnect the idle air control valve connector.

13. Unscrew the 6 bolts securing the resonance chamber.

14. Remove the resonance chamber from the venturi nozzle housing.

15. Install suitable clamps on the cooling system hoses.

15. Install suitable clamps on the cooling system hoses.


16. Clamp the hoses.

17. Place a rag around the hose connection point to collect any liquid.

Note: From now on, remove parts only when necessary.


18. Loosen the clamps securing the cooling system hoses to the resonance chamber.

19. Disconnect the hoses, remove the resonance chamber.



20. Cover the Venturi nozzles with a rag.

21. Unscrew the 4 bolts of the water pipe of the resonance chamber, remove the pipe and gasket.

22. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the throttle lever mechanism to the resonance chamber. Remove the bracket and springs.

23. Unscrew the two bolts securing the throttle position sensor and remove the sensor.

24. Loosen the two bolts securing the idle speed control valve and remove the valve.

Installation



25. Install the throttle position sensor and idle air control valve. Tightening torque of bolts: 2 Nm.

26. Install the water hose on the new gasket. Tightening torque of bolts: 13 Nm.

27. Secure the throttle linkage. Tightening torque of bolts: 8 Nm.

28. Clean the mating surfaces of the resonance chamber and the Venturi nozzle housings.

29. Apply Loctite 577 sealant to the resonance chamber and install the chamber in place.

30. Tighten the resonance chamber mounting bolts to 24 Nm.

31. Reinstall the removed parts.
