Removal


NOTE: This procedure involves removing and installing the ignition lock cylinder. The ignition lock cylinder and door lock cylinders must be replaced as a set.


1. For easy access, fully extend the steering column.

2. Remove the upper steering column cover. Release the 4 clips.

2. Remove the upper steering column cover. Release the 4 clips.


3. Remove the lower steering column cover.
  • Remove 3 Torx head screws.
  • Release the steering column adjustment lever.
Release the steering column adjustment lever.


4. Remove the passive spring.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector.
  • Release the 2 clamps.
5. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
  • Turn the ignition switch to position 1.
  • Insert a pin with a diameter no greater than 2 mm into the hole in the ignition switch housing, press the plunger and release the ignition switch cylinder.

Installation


1. Install the ignition lock cylinder.
  • Turn the ignition switch to position 1.
  • Insert the part into the guides and press the plunger.

2. Install the passive spring.
  • Engage the clamps.
  • Connect the electrical connector.
3. Install the steering column covers.
  • Tighten the Torx head screws.
  • Engage the clamps.
  • Secure the adjusting lever.
