The open rear differential changes the torque transmission angle by 90° and distributes torque between the rear wheels via the axle shafts.
Open-type rear differentials for models with V6 and V8 petrol engines have the same gear ratios. The gear ratios in models with the TdV6 diesel engine differ depending on whether the transmission is installed: automatic or manual.
The open type rear differential is located in the central rear part of the chassis.
The differential is bolted to the chassis with rubber bushings and has two mounting points at the rear and one at the front.
