1-Electronic control unit for rear differential

The control unit is connected to the CAN bus. (local area network of controllers) and controls the operation of the differential using CAN bus messages transmitted by other control units in the local network.

Input/output of all control unit signals is carried out via 3 connectors. Constant supply voltage is supplied to the unit via a 40 A fuse located in the battery distribution block (BJB), and ignition voltage via fuse 24 located in the central distribution block (CJB).

When the ignition is switched off, the control unit stores the position of the electronically controlled rear differential motor in memory.

The block controls the closed (having feedback) positioning system built into the electric motor and regulates the supply voltage of the electric motor.

In case of replacement of the control unit, it is necessary to connect the T4 device to the car and perform the automatic calibration procedure of the electronic control unit of the rear differential. This procedure must also be performed in case of replacement of the electric motor or differential assembly.

When a malfunction occurs in the electronic rear differential or control module, or one of the required input signals, such as the vehicle speed signal, fails, the control module records a fault code and the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster illuminates continuously.
