Knock Sensor (KS) 4.4L (Discovery 3)

Removal

NOTE: The left and right knock sensors must be removed and serviced as a single unit.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. Remove the intake manifold gaskets. For more information, refer to Intake Manifold Assembly (30.15.02)

3. Remove the knock sensors.

• Disconnect the plug connector.
• Remove two bolts.

Installation

1. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 20 Nm).
