1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. Specification

CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the engine cover. Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)

CAUTION: When removing the oil filter assembly, be careful not to damage the fuel temperature sensor.
Using a special tool, remove the oil filter element.
- Loosen the oil filter element cap 4 turns to allow oil to drain from the cap.
- Remove the oil filter element cover.
- Remove the sealing ring and discard it.

5. Remove the engine protection. Engine protection (76.10.50)
6. Unscrew the oil drain plug.
- Place a container to collect any spilled oil.
- Discard the oil pan drain plug seal.

7. Screw in the oil drain plug.
- Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
- Install a new sealing washer.
- Tighten the drain plug (tightening torque 25 Nm).
- Clean the parts.
- Make sure the pin on the oil filter element fits into the hole in the filter housing.
- Install a new O-ring.
- Tighten the oil filter element cap. (tightening torque 25 Nm).
10. Install the engine protection. Engine protection (76.10.50)
11. Install the engine cover. Engine Cover - 2.7L Diesel (12.30.50)
12. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
13. Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary.
