Starter
The starter is mounted on the right rear of the ladder frame, at the junction of the cylinder block and the ladder frame. For more information, refer to Starting System (303-06C Starting System - 2.7L Diesel).
Cooling system drain plug
There are two coolant drain plugs located in the cylinder block: one on the right rear side and one in the center of the cylinder block on the left side.
Cylinder Block Heater
In vehicles with the cold climate equipment package, a block heater is used instead of a plug in the center of the cylinder block on the left side.

The coolant pump is located on the left side of the front wall of the cylinder block and is secured with three bolts using an O-ring seal. The coolant pump is driven by the crankshaft via a poly V-belt.
