| 1 | - | Left exhaust manifold |
| 2 | - | Right exhaust manifold |
The exhaust manifolds are cast from alloy steel and are not interchangeable. The sealing of the manifold connections to the cylinder head is provided by a steel gasket. Deformable plastic bushings are used to align the manifolds. When re-installing the manifolds, these bushings are subject to replacement. Distance bushings on the mounting bolts allow the manifolds to expand and contract with temperature changes, while maintaining clamping forces.
Each manifold has a connection for the EGR bypass pipe.
The engine is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT), which is attached to the exhaust manifold via a flange with three holes and a steel gasket.
Bypass tube

The bypass pipe ka serves to bypass exhaust gases from the right exhaust manifold to the turbocharger on the left exhaust manifold. The bypass pipe ka is located at the rear of the engine and runs over the flared portion of the gearbox housing.
