Elastic Plate Locking Tool (LRT-12-145) 303-947

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

2. CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Remove the gearbox. For more information, refer to Gearbox (44.20.01)

4. Remove the torque converter elastic plate.

• Lock the elastic plate with a special tool.
• Remove 8 Torx head bolts.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern.

Install the torque converter flex plate.

• Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.
• Lock the elastic plate with a special tool.
• Tighten the Torx head bolts in 3 stages.
• Tighten the Torx head bolts (tightening torque 50 Nm).
• Tighten the Torx head bolts to 45 degrees.
• Tighten the Torx head bolts an additional 45 degrees.

2. Install the gearbox. For more information, refer to Gearbox (44.20.01)

3. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.
