General information


The TdV6 engine is a diesel, six-cylinder, two-row (3 cylinders in each row) engine with a 60 degree cylinder bank angle, a working volume of 2.7 liters and direct injection. The engine has 4 valves per cylinder, which are actuated by 2 overhead camshafts per cylinder bank. The toxicity of the exhaust gases of the engine meets the requirements of the European environmental standards ECD3; to limit emissions of harmful substances, the engine uses two catalytic converters, an electronic engine management system, forced crankcase ventilation and exhaust gas recirculation. The engine has liquid cooling and turbocharging. The fuel system uses an accumulator system with direct injection.

The cylinder block is made of compacted grey cast iron (CGI), and a lightweight, compact and very strong stepped cast aluminum alloy plate is attached to its lower part for increased rigidity. The cylinder heads are cast from aluminum alloy and are equipped with a plastic camshaft cover. The non-separable oil pan is made of stamped steel. Each bank of cylinders has its own cast iron exhaust manifold. To reduce the engine noise level, a cast plastic noise-insulating cover is installed on top of it.

  • The toxicity of exhaust gases is reduced by a special diesel oxidizing catalytic converter and a primary catalytic converter.
  • Cooling system fan with electroviscous clutch drive
