Exhaust Pipe Cutter 100-051 (LRT-99-027)

Removal


1.
CAUTION: Never work on a vehicle supported solely by a jack. Always support the vehicle securely.


Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Disconnect the right catalytic converter from the muffler assembly.

  • Unscrew 2 nuts.
  • Discard the gasket.
3. Disconnect the left catalytic converter from the muffler assembly. Loosen the nut and release the clamp.

4. Using outside help, remove the muffler assembly. Disconnect the 5 exhaust system hangers.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed only for access.



Remove the left exhaust pipe. Using tool 100-051, cut the exhaust pipe at the location indicated by the recess on the exhaust pipe.

6. Remove the right exhaust pipe. Using tool 100-051, cut the exhaust pipe at the location indicated by the recess on the exhaust pipe.

Installation


1.
NOTE: Do not tighten the clamp at this stage.


Attach the right exhaust pipe to the muffler assembly.
  • Clear the elements.
  • Install the clamp.
2.
NOTE: Do not tighten the clamp at this stage.


Attach the left exhaust pipe to the muffler assembly.
  • Clear the elements.
  • Install the clamp.
3. Using outside help, remove and install the assembly.
  • Secure the exhaust system hangers.
  • Install a new gasket.
  • Tighten the catalytic converter mounting nuts and clamp to 48 Nm.
4. Align both exhaust pipes and tighten the clamps to 55 Nm.
