Generator — engine KV6 (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the upper arm.

ENGINE KV6 - MODIFICATION K, Left cylinder head camshafts, Right engine support bracket assembly.

3. Using the 3/8 square lever, move the auxiliary equipment belt tensioner up and remove the belt from the alternator pulley.



4. Release the battery cable mounting cover, loosen the terminal and disconnect the cable from the terminal.

5. Disconnect the connector from the generator.

6. Remove the lower bolt and upper nut securing the generator to the front mounting plate.

7. Remove the generator.

Installation

1. Install the generator onto the front mounting plate.

2. Install the bolt and nut and the generator mounting bolt to the front mounting plate and tighten to 45 Nm.



3. Using the 3/8 square lever, move the auxiliary equipment belt tensioner up and install the belt from the alternator pulley.

4. Connect the generator connector.

5. Install the battery cable to the generator, tighten the nut to 10 Nm and replace the battery cable cover.

6. Install the upper arm.

7. Connect the negative battery terminal.
