Battery — Removal and Installation (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect both terminals on the battery, first the negative terminal.

2. Unscrew the bolt and the battery retainer.

3. Remove the battery.

Installation

1. Clean the battery tray.

2. Install the battery and battery retainer, tighten the bolt to 12 Nm.

3. Apply petroleum jelly to both battery terminals, install and tighten the terminal bolts. The negative wire should be connected last.
