Attachment Drive Belt — K1.8 Engine Without Air Conditioning (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the power steering pump drive belt.

STEERING, Steering gear, Drive belt (for models with K1.8 engine).

3. Unscrew the generator support bolt and nut.

4. Loosen the bolt securing the adjusting bracket to the engine.

5. Loosen the generator mounting bolt to the adjusting bracket.

6. By turning the adjusting bolt in the corresponding direction of movement counterclockwise, loosen the tensioner and remove the belt.

Installation

1. Make sure the transmission pulleys are not damaged or dirty.

CAUTION: Check the belt for wear. Cracks on the side surface of the belt are not damage. A drive belt with missing or missing parts must be replaced.

2. Install the drive belt. Make sure the belt is positioned correctly in the pulley grooves.

3. Adjusting the belt tension.

4. Install the power steering pump drive belt.
