Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the intake manifold gasket.

3. Drain the coolant from the engine.

COOLING SYSTEM: Td4 engine, ADJUSTMENTS, Draining coolant, flushing the system and filling.

4. Remove the clamps securing the hoses to the cooling system pipe and remove the hoses from the pipe.

5. Remove and discard the quick-release seals from the hoses to the cooling system pipe.

6. Move the coolant hoses to the side for easier access.

7. Drain the oil from the engine and remove the filter element from the oil filter housing.

MAINTENANCE, Engine oil and oil filter -Td4.


8. Remove the starter.

9. Loosen the clamp and remove the hose from the oil cooling heat exchanger.



10. Place a container to collect any leaking liquid.

11. Unscrew the 3 bolts securing the heat exchanger to the oil filter head.

12. Remove and discard the gasket between the heat exchanger and the oil filter head.

Installation


1. Wipe the mating surfaces on the heat exchanger and on the oil filter head.

2. Install a new gasket on the filter head.

3. Install the heat exchanger on the oil filter head and tighten the bolts. Tightening torque 22 Nm.

4. Place the water hose on the heat exchanger and secure it with a clamp.

5. Reinstall the starter.

6. Insert a new lubrication system filter element and fill the engine with oil.

7. Install new O-rings onto the cooling system hose.

8. Place the hoses with quick-release couplings onto the cooling system pipe.

9. Install the intake manifold gasket.

10. Connect the negative battery terminal.

11. Fill the engine with coolant.
